First Solo Show at The Queensboro

Essence of Life on Earth

Second Half of the Show Aug 27th - Nov 10th

Essence of Life on Earth

In contrast to the first half of the exhibition, which focused on the vitality of humanity,
the second half is dedicated to a reverence for nature.

The frozen lands of Alaska, shrouded in permafrost, reveal breathtaking, artistic formations that seem almost sculpted by nature. Similarly, the flowing curves etched into the red rock surfaces evoke a sense of time far beyond human comprehension.

In a fleeting moment, when I looked up, I felt the forest was alive.
Beautiful, fluffy mosses unfurl their microscopic world across the bark,
while a solitary stretch of ivy adorns the surroundings with its vibrant colors.

Quietly yet powerfully, life is introduced through subtle displays beneath my feet and vibrant, beautiful plants that catch my eye.

These beautiful, almost miraculous formations always remind me of the immeasurable power of nature and its magical allure.

As a fellow inhabitant of this living Earth, I am once again filled with gratitude.
These are my personal tributes to the Earth, to nature.

Parades

First Half of the Show Jul 2nd - Aug 25th

Parades

In the summer of 2023, I photographed many parades in my neighborhood, Jackson Heights.

Reflecting the diversity of its populations, each parade was so unique.

Music, costumes and dance are all varied from country to country and region to region.

Under the hot sun, people of all ages swayed to the music. Everyone wore beaming smiles,

radiating positive energy to spectators lining the streets.

As I began to feel more comfortable mingling with participants and spectators,

a strange thing happened: I enjoyed it so much that I had become part of the parade myself.

In my home country Japan, during the summer festivals, locals wear special outfits and parade through the streets,

chanting and dancing to the traditional music.

The parades I saw in Jackson Heights, especially from Spanish-speaking countries,

were distinctly different from the ones I knew in Japan.

They were full of vivid colors, and I love how men and women, both young and old,

proudly displayed their sexiness. It was so infectious.

I would like to share the beautiful communal vibes I felt with you through these photographs.
